Check out my review on the TYME Iron Pro 2-in-1 Hair Curler Straightener below to learn what’s good and bad about it and also for tips on how to use the flat iron and curler the best.
Whenever I see two-in-one products, I somehow become a little apprehensive about their effectiveness. “Do they actually work as promised?”, “Are they easy to use?”, well, these thoughts I keep thinking to myself and never really ended up buying such kinds of products.
Two months ago, I came across the TYME Iron Pro 2-in-1 Hair Curler Straightener and I have to admit that I got carried away with all the hype about this product and got down to buying it because I thought it would suit my wavy hair just fine. I could get my hair straightened, as well as curled with just this one device. Pretty cool, right?
Well, over the last two months, I’ve had a rather pleasant experience using this product and I think it’s time I share my review with you guys.

Product Functional Design and Performance
Appearance:
The product has a sleek appearance, but is twisted in terms of its design. This “twist” or as TYME calls it “a patented angled design” is what this device is most famously known for.
It also comes with its own storage pouch for when the device is not in use.
Voltage and temperature:
For those who are looking for a travel-friendly device, then this one’s perfect because it is one that supports dual voltage of 110V to 240V.
Also, it has a 5 level variable range of temperature settings of 300°F, 325°F, 350°F, 375°F, 400°F, in order to cater to all types and textures of hair.
Type of plates:
It has titanium plates, which are suitable for use on any type of hair or hair texture. Titanium plates are one of the best materials of plates used when it comes to straightening or curling hair because they give the hair a smooth and shiny finish once styled.
Product size:
The device is just 1.5 pounds (or 658 grams) in weight, which I found to be a rather comfortable weight for when the device is used for long periods of time, without tiring the hands.
Type of cord:
This device has a swivel cord which is of professional length and can even be used when the electric source is at a distance. This cord is one that remains tangle-free, which is advantageous.
Usage:
This device has an angled shape and is not one like your regular straightening or curling tools. So for first time users, it is new and will take a while to get used to using the device to get the perfect style.
Versatility:
The benefit of using this device is that you can get whichever hairstyle you like be it curly, straight, waves etc, so you can only invest in one tool for all types of hair styling which becomes a savings.
Pricing:
The cost of this device is relatively on the more expensive side and is one that definitely may not fit into everyone’s budget range.

My Review of the TYME Iron Pro 2-in-1 Hair Curler Straightener
So to begin with, I have to say that I really liked the appearance of this product. It looks super sleek and the angled design was a first for me, which was very unique indeed. This product also comes with a storage pouch as well, which helps store this device while not in use.
Coming to the next aspect that I really liked was that this device supports dual voltage, which was super convenient for me as I am someone who travels a lot!
In terms of the plates, this device comes with titanium plates that truly impressed me because after I used this device to straighten my hair, it has a very smooth finish with a lovely sheen, before which my hair looked dry and coarse.
The five level variable ranges of temperature settings from 300°F to 400°F, was really good because I could adjust it according to my hair type which was fine, non-voluminous dry hair.
Next, talking about the ease of use of this device, well, I’d say it wasn’t easy for sure (especially for curling the hair) and it did take me almost three to four curling sessions to get the hang of using it. But when it comes to the usage of the product overall, it is lightweight and is suitable for long hair styling sessions as well, without tiring the hand.
So the fact that you can use this device as a two-in-one hair straightener cum curler is a bonus, but the pricing is relatively high as compared to other such products. I paid $135.00 and bought it on Amazon, but little did I realize that their official website had a discount and the product was going for $125.00! So guys, here’s some advice, always remember to check out the product’s official website for sales and discounts before buying any product from Amazon.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- It supports dual voltage suitable for travel convenience.
- Has an automatic shut-off timer of 30 minutes for user safety.
- It has five variable heat settings.
- Comes with temperature memory which recalls the user’s previous setting used.
- Its titanium plates ensure a smooth and silky finish on the hair.
- Device is lightweight.
- Suitable for long styling sessions.
Cons:
- It is priced quite expensive.
- Has a unique design which may not be suitable to all.
- Longer heating time than other such heat styling devices.
How to use the TYME Iron Pro 2-in-1 Hair Curler ?
Well, I have to admit that using this device the first few times was hard! This is because it has a unique angled design and takes some time to get used to using it.
But after using it for the past two months, here are a few user tips I can give you from my side.
To straighten the hair:
So as for straightening your hair with this device, it can pretty much be used just like any other straightener. Make sure to first section your hair into smaller parts and clip them up, so you can work on straightening smaller sections of your hair at a time to get the best results.
Start at your roots and then clamp down on your hair slowly exerting sufficient pressure, glide the device down through the length of your hair to straighten it.
You may have to go over the same section of your hair two times to get it straightened perfectly (especially for those with curlier hair types).
To curl the hair:
The tough part of using this device is when you decide to curl your hair. This is where the angled twist of the device needs to be used in the right way and it works quite opposite to most regular flat irons (that can also curl hair).
So the aim here again is to first section out your hair and work on each section at a time.
Then clamp down on the area you wish to start the curl from and then rotate the device to the left (backwards), then gently pressing downwards, begin to push your hand forward (towards the mirror) and let go once you reach the end. Then, carefully swirl that section with your finger to form the curl pattern.
While this will take a while to get the hang of (curling your hair with this device), the official TYME website does offer tutorials as well, so that is something I really liked. So for any of your guys having trouble, go ahead and check it out (hopefully it can help!).

Summary
So if you are someone who likes trying out and testing new and different types of heat styling devices, only then go in for the TYME Iron Pro 2-in-1 Hair Curler Straightener, because it has a unique shape that may not be suitable for those who like the regular styling tools.
But on an overall basis, it does a relatively good job and has versatility in its functions, but will take some time getting used to it and so, invest in it only if you’re ready to experiment and more so, have the time to! If yes, go for it!
