When I saw the word “hair thickening” on the shampoo along with the ingredients biotin and collagen, I was immediately enticed to try this shampoo out because I am someone who is struggling with hair loss and hair thinning for a long time now.
In the past, I have tried several other shampoos to help regain the thickness of my hair, but to no avail.

Biotin
The deficiency of biotin (nothing but vitamin B7) in the body can cause hair thinning and since this shampoo is specifically formulated to increase hair thickness and reduce hair thinning, biotin is one of its top ingredients. It also helps stimulate the production of the hair protein keratin.
Biotin can help reduce hair fall as it strengthens the hair by nourishing it from within. It can also help reduce hair breakage.
Hydrolyzed Collagen
Hydrolyzed collagen contains amino acids that can help build the protein keratin, which in turn builds the structure of the hair. It is rich in antioxidants and can fight hair damage and keep the hair healthy.
Collagen can also help reduce premature signs of greying of the hair and also reduce the thinning down of hair as one age.
Keratin
Keratin is a protein that makes up hair. When the hair has sufficient keratin, it can keep the hair strands healthy and smooth.
It can help reduce hair dryness and frizziness considerably, thus giving the hair a healthy and glossy appearance.
Keratin can help increase hair strength by providing the hair with a better and healthier structure.

Cocoa Extract: Helps enhance hair growth, control hair fall and improve hair texture.
Glycerin: Acts as a natural humectant to keep the hair moisturized and can prevent moisture loss from the hair, reducing and preventing dryness.

How I Reviewed This Renpure Shampoo And Conditioner
Ability to cleanse the hair
My curly hair tends to get greasy very easily and I have a lot of scalp buildup because of the frequent use of hair care products.
Therefore, I look for a shampoo that can help me get rid of this grease and product buildup and make my hair and scalp feel fresh, with a bounce.
Scalp and hair gentleness
Over the years I learnt about the harsh effects of sulfates and parabens on the scalp and completely decided to only go in for products that are sulfate and paraben free.
So this is one of the main aspects I consider, whether the shampoo feels gentle on my hair and sensitive scalp or not.
Product Effectiveness
This aspect tests whether the main benefits that the product promises actually work or not. In this case, the shampoo promises hair thickness, strength, and softness.
So I used this parameter to rate to what extent the product benefits offered worked out for me.
Scent
Harsh or strong fragrances are definitely not for me! I am someone who prefers mild or subtle fragrances; because this is how my hair will smell once it dries up. So when I review products, I make sure to consider this aspect.
Safety of use on colour-treated hair
I occasionally colour my hair now, because of all the hair damage it causes, but at the time of buying this product, my hair was colour-treated, so I wanted to make sure the product was safe to use on colour-treated hair and whether it drastically faded my hair colour once I used it or not.
Cost
My average price range for a shampoo-conditioner set would be around $20. So this shampoo was around my price range, so I decided to buy it. While it is not cheap, it is affordable.
Renpure Biotin and Collagen Shampoo and Conditioner: Overall Review
I have fine curly hair that has been colour-treated and also heat-treated in the past. So yes, I did and still do suffer from hair damage and hair loss, which has thinned down my hair a lot. Well, I did stop heat treating my hair, but occasionally I still do dye my hair.
So after I found this shampoo for hair thickening, I decided to ditch the use of my previous shampoo right away and use this one.
Well, it has been around four weeks now since I started using this product and I must stay that I can actually see results!
After around two weeks, (so that would be approximately around six hair washes), I noticed that my hair had become stronger because there was lesser breakage and reduced hair fall and now around 4 weeks later, I have begun to notice that my hair is becoming thicker and it has made my hair look fuller and more voluminous.
The conditioner doesn’t contain silicones and thus it doesn’t weigh down my hair, in fact it has given my hair a good bounce.
One thing that I was rather apprehensive about is that this shampoo contained the ingredient sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, which I thought was a sulfate, but it is not and it is totally safe for the hair.
I also confirmed this information with a hair care professional and did my research online (check out the frequently asked questions below for more information), to clear my head of this doubt.
The shampoo feels gentle on my sensitive scalp because it contains no parabens or sulfates.
I wouldn’t say that this product “lathered” very well (because we all love the foam, don’t we). So it raked up an average lather, but it definitely did a good job with cleansing my hair and scalp.
Coming to the fragrance of this shampoo, I didn’t smell anything in particular, but the fragrance was mild.
This shampoo is also safe to use on colour-treated hair, even though it contains the ingredient glycerin.
Talking about the pricing part, I bought this shampoo-conditioner set off of Amazon for $21.99, but only later did I realize that if I had bought both the shampoo and conditioner separately, I would have actually got it cheaper for almost half the price!
Well, that’s something you guys could definitely consider while buying this product.

Renpure Biotin and Collagen Shampoo and Conditioner: FAQs
Is Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate the same as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate?
Well, it is quite a common confusion that many people have, to assume sodium lauroyl sarcosinate is a sulfate, because it is often confused with sodium lauryl sulfate.
But to be clear – sodium lauroyl sarcosinate is not a sulfate! It is a sulfate-free surfactant and is safe to use on the hair.
It is simply a cleansing agent added into shampoos, instead of adding harsh sulfates.
How do I open/use the pump?
Well, I have to say that this was the tricky part for me too. All you need to do is, hold the bottle down firmly and turn the top of the pump counter-clockwise (refer to the image). The pump will release and pop up. Then you can use it.
Can I use this shampoo after keratin treatment?
Yes, this shampoo is safe to use on hair that is keratin-treated. My coloured hair is also keratin-treated and using this shampoo did not damage the keratin treatment at all.
Is it true that glycerin can fade colour-treated hair?
Well, the product does contain glycerin and glycerin is an ingredient that is known to fade dye. But this shampoo is safe to use on colour-treated hair and doesn’t drastically fade the colour.
Conclusion
Overall, Renpure Biotin and Collagen Shampoo and Conditioner not only smells heavenly but also performs really well. The creamy texture of this shampoo works wonders on hair, while it is the same case with the conditioner as well.
By now, you must have understood that the shampoo and conditioner from Renpure are made for those who want their hair to be healthy but also look great.
