I began searching for a good shampoo to help me regain my hair volume and improve my hair thickness and I found that Pura D’or has a shampoo specifically for hair thinning, so I decided to try it out.

Pura D’or is a reputed brand of products, so I didn’t think twice and I just went in for it to save my hair!

Well, I’ve used it for over two months now and I felt like this was a fairly good time to tell you guys about the results I got after using this shampoo. So, here’s my review below.

I’ve been using the Pura D’or Hair Thinning Therapy Shampoo for quite some time now and I have to say that it definitely did help me to a certain extent. Let me talk about each aspect in detail here.

My ideal price range for a shampoo would be between $10 to $15. So this product was above my budget. So here I will rate and review as to how worthy or not this shampoo was for the price I paid.

I’m not big on scents, to be honest. I prefer unscented products or at the max, mildly scented products. So this is a parameter I consider while I review and rate products.

So as a hair cleanser, this shampoo is super powerful; and cleanses the hair and scalp very well without leaving any product residue. It made my scalp and hair feel fresh after each wash.

It also felt really gentle on my sensitive scalp (as this is always one of my apprehensions whenever I buy shampoo because I suffer from dry scalp and itchiness), as it contains no sulfates, parabens or any other harsh ingredients. Also, it is safe for coloured hair, as it didn’t fade my hair colour at all!

Coming to how effective this product was in terms of fulfilling its promised benefits, I’d say it did definitely reduce my hair loss to a good extent and I saw much lesser hair clog my drain over the course of a few weeks after using this shampoo, so that’s a plus on that front.

I wouldn’t say it stopped my hair from thinning down completely, but it did to a good extent, which I was quite satisfied with.

I initially didn’t see results for a few weeks (in terms of reduction of hair loss) and felt disappointed, but thereafter, I began noticing the changes over time. It made my hair feel more voluminous than it was before.

Also, this shampoo made my dry hair feel much softer and made the texture of my hair smooth, which also made my hair more manageable and easier to brush (thus contributing to the reduction of my hair loss due to hair breakage).

I used this shampoo along with the Pura D’or Hair Thinning Therapy conditioner itself to get the best effects of the product, combined.

It lathers well, especially when diluted with a little water before usage. you keep it on for a few minutes once you massage it in, it definitely gives better results.

The scent of this shampoo is vanilla lavender, but I honestly didn’t like the smell too much. It is pleasant, but wasn’t to my liking.

Lastly, talking about the pricing, this shampoo was quite over my budget (I bought the shampoo first and later the conditioner). So if you want to know whether I’d buy it again, well, maybe not.

· This shampoo was quite expensive and was out of my budget.

How to use the Pura D’or Hair Thinning Therapy Shampoo?

Wet your hair properly with lukewarm water (so that your hair cuticles open up and the shampoo works better). Then, dilute a little shampoo and lather it between your palms and apply it all over your scalp and hair. Let it be on your hair for 2 to 4 minutes, to soak in well.

Rinse off well and then use the Pura D’or Hair Thinning Therapy Conditioner (for the best results) or any conditioner of your choice.

Tip: When rinsing off the conditioner, rinse off with cold water so that the cuticles on the hair shaft seals, locking in the moisture.
