Top Oil For 360 Waves 2025
Oliology Coconut Oil
Best Coconut Oil For 360 Waves
Coconut oil is commonly known for its ability to enhance scalp health. It is regarded as one of the key components in hair care products throughout the entire world. It is known to work for all hair types.
Which I why I was excited to try this Oilogy coconut oil for my waves. I wanted to something natural you see.
Unfortunately things were… well a bit mixed with this oil so to speak.
What I liked about the Oliology oil is that it’s rich in nutrients and it did create a good lift as well as give me excellent 360 waves.
At times you may find that your hair feels crunchy or gritty, when using a regular oil. With this oil, you can eliminate the risk of leaving your hair sticky after use.
Which pleasantly surprised me considering the coconut oil can get really greasy. This oil actually gave me sharp and elegant 360 waves with a matte finish.
It also helped keep my hair textures intact for many hours.
This oil also contains sea salt, which is an effective hair volumizer. And I could see my hair looking a tad more thicker than usual. So it works I guess.
All in all, coconut oil is known to be best for waves. So this is a great coconut-based product to use if you don’t want to use the real thing as it makes hiar greasy.
Now coming to the bad parts. Yes, yes there are a few! The oil contains perfumes so if you have inflamed scalp or a very sensitive one, I suggest using a natural lightweight oil like the Jojoba oil by Leven Rose instead.
Also, I really like the liquid spray thing Oilogy has going on but someone should fix the nozzle as it can break easily.
Pros
- Contains hydrolyzed keratin that give hair a strong hold
- The bamboo stem and sea kelp in the oil helps thicken hair
- Contains Matricaria and chamomile that nourish scalp
- No stickiness as formula gives hair a matte finish
Cons
- The spray bottle is too fragile and breaks easily
- Contains added perfume so it won’t be suitable for irritated or very sensitive scalp
My Ratings:
- Moisturizing Power – 3.5/5
- Wave Building Power – 4.5/5
- Natural Ingredients – 4/5

Marc Anthony Coconut Cream
Best Frizz-Control Oil For 360 Waves
Another day, another coconut-based product. But what intrigued me about the Marc Anthony Coconut Cream is it’s claims to give your waves a good hold.
Now this is actually great if you have 3c hair or even straighter textures as the cream can help enhance wavy textures.
So I gave it a try and honestly I was a bit disappointed.
But let me recap all the good parts for you first. I want to be fair.
Firstly, this oil gave my shine through and through. Also consistency of this oil is kind of thick and this allows the hair to relax and lay as desired.
In terms of textures, this can be used on a daily basis. I usually apply it and wait for it to seep into the hair, and you can achieve the defined wavy texture desirable for the signature 360 waves while brushing it out in the morning.
Unfortunately the shine in the oil is from dimethicone (silicones) so if you use this product everyday it’s guaranteed to buildup on hair.
It also may pose issues in terms of a good hold which was irritating as this is why I chose this product instead of plain natural oil.
So I’d say this oil may not be for beginners as it gets extremely difficult to style waves without anything giving the texture a good hold.
And while I concede that there are no chemicals used in the formula like paraben and phthalate, thus making it safe for your scalp health, there’s added perfume in it.
Yes, it smells good. But it won’t be good for very sensitive scalps no matter how wonderful the scent.
Pros
- Coconut oil softens hair and makes them more pliable for creating waves
- Adds volume and bounce to hair to thanks to cellulose-enriched formula
- Free of parabens and phthalates so it’s good for scalp health
Cons
- Lacks hold so it won’t help your 360 waves last longer
- Contains alcohol and perfume that can irritate very sensitive scalp
- Contains silicone (dimethicone) that causes product build with frequent use
My Ratings:
- Moisturizing Power – 4.5/5
- Wave Building Power – 3/5
- Natural Ingredients – 5/5
Hask Argan Oil
Best Natural Oil For 360 Waves
Argan oil is also very effective when it comes to wave formation and it’s also known as “liquid gold”.
It is called so for its extraordinary benefits to the skin and scalp. So I was excited to see what Hask had to offer.
When I first used this oil I immediately liked it as it helped add shine and moisture to my waves without being sticky.
This is quite useful for the process of achieving better 360 waves as the oil doesn’t make hair clump together. So it helps facilitate movement of your wave brushes through hair.
What intrigued me more is that this oil claims to protect hair from heat damage and reduces frizz.
And while I couldn’t test out the heat protectant claim as you’re not supposed to use blow dry hair while creating waves, I can safely say it works wonder in reducing frizz.
One drawback I noticed while using this oil is that it may seem less moisturizing for men with extremely dry scalp. Argan oil is nourishing yes, but nowhere close to the rich coconut oil formulas of other oils here.
And then I saw it – the ingredients list! Holy cow. The chief ingredient itself here cyclopentasiloxane followed by dimethiconol. Now both are forms of silicones. (Balcıoğlu, I Cüneyt et al. “Comparing the Efficacy of Commercially Available Insecticide and Dimeticone based Solutions on Head Lice, Pediculus capitis: in vitro Trials.” Turkiye parazitolojii dergisi vol. 39,4 (2015): 305-9. doi:10.5152/tpd.2015.4652)
Honestly, silicones are not all bad for hair as they can add shine and aid frizz-control. But it can cause a lot of issues in the long run thanks to the buildup.
If you’re going to be using this wave building oil I highly recommend getting a strong, clarifying shampoo to cleanse your hair once a week or so.
Pros
- Instantly adds shine and de-frizzes hair thanks to the silicone-based formula
- Non-greasy formula hydates without weighing hair down
- No added perfume and contains natural scent from orange oil
Cons
- Can lack effectiveness for extremely dry scalps
- Contains silicones in the form of cyclopentasiloxane and dimethiconol that may cause product buildup
My Ratings:
- Moisturizing Power – 4/5
- Wave Building Power – 3.5/5
- Natural Ingredients – 4/5
