Which OGX Shampoo Is Best For You?
OGX Active Beauty Green Tea Fitness Shampoo
Best Smelling Ogx Shampoo
An active life can take a toll on hair health – all that sweat and grime after doing yoga or heading to the gym.
And sometimes, I’ve noticed that dry shampoo just doesn’t do the needful in cleaning my hair. So I tried the OGX Active Beauty Green Tea Fitness shampoo to see how it goes!
It’s mild enough to be used frequently and left my tresses looking and feeling fresh. I liked that there are no sulfates here.
So I could use it 3-4 times a week without worrying about stripping my hair dye.
I also liked the antioxidant-rich, green tea formula as it seemed to soothe my scalp after use. Oh and my favorite bit? I adored the natural, fresh scent it leaves behind.
My one gripe is that the shampoo can be too drying if used frequently. If you’re using it often I suggest pairing it with a very nourishing conditioner.
Pros:
- Thoroughly cleanses oily, sweaty hair
- Good for thinning hair as it has an antioxidant-rich formula
- Pleasant, fresh scent keeps smelly hair away
- Removes build-up from scalp keeping hair clean
Cons:
- Can dry out hair as doesn’t have moisturizing ingredients
My Ratings:
- Gentleness of Formula – 3.5/5
- Suitability for Hair Type – 4/5
- Effectivness – 4/5
Who It’s For – Sweaty, post-workout hair
OGX Purifying + Charcoal Detox Shampoo
Best Ogx Shampoo For Oily Hair
All those hair care products like masks, sprays, gels, etc. tend to leave behind product residue on my hair that builds up over time.
Pair this with an oily scalp (like mine!), and you have a recipe for disaster. This is where the OGX Purifying + Charcoal Detox shampoo steps in.
I felt that it’s one of the best OGX shampoo if you’re looking for something that deeply cleanses hair.
And it doesn’t use harsh surfactants to do so! It contains charcoal and kaolin clay instead.
If you feel you feel like your hair is getting too oily or too weighed down by all that product build-up, try this OGX charcoal shampoo.
But I wouldn’t recommend it for the dry scalp folks out there.
The shampoo left my hair soft, shiny, and bouncy. And it did this without stripping hair of color. So yay me!
But I do not use it more than 2-3 times a week. And it can have a different effect on your hair if it has a curly texture as it’s more prone to dryness.
Pros:
- Charcoal detoxifies scalp and removes impurities
- It also removes excess oil from hair, leaving hair bouncy
- Removes product build-up from hair, unclogging pores
Cons:
- Can leave hair dry as charcoal is very clarifying
My Ratings:
- Gentleness of Formula – 3.5/5
- Suitability for Hair Type – 4.5/5
- Effectivness – 4.5/5
Who It’s For – Scalp build-up and oily hair

OGX Restoring + Bonding Plex Shampoo
Best Ogx Shampoo For Hair Fall
After I had bleached and colored my hair, I noticed I’ve got a few damaged hair strands your main. I got the OGX Restoring + Bonding Plex as it promised to repair chemically-processed hair.
It’s saw the ingredients and noticed that it’s blended with cysteine and vegetable protein. So that was a bonus!
I was also glad to know that there weren’t any sulfates in the formula.
The shampoo is specially formulated for hair that’s been damaged from too much heat, styling, and color treatments.
So it’s not the best choice if you want to increase the vibrancy of hair dye.
But it does leave hair protected, improves the textures of the strands, and increases their moisture retention.
I suggest using this shampoo with the bonding conditioner and hair cream. I often use it on weekends to give my hair a salon-style deep conditioning treatment at home.
Pros:
- The formula helps smoothen frizzy hair
- Helps repair damaged caused by rebonding and styling
- Vegetable proteins hlep moisturize hair
Cons:
- Sulfate-free formula doesn’t lather well
- Some moisturizing ingredients may stay on the hair and scalp
My Ratings:
- Gentleness of Formula – 4/5
- Suitability for Hair Type – 4.5/5
- Effectivness – 4/5
Who It’s For – Overly-processed, damaged hair
OGX Detoxifying + Pomegranate & Ginger Shampoo
Best Ogx Shampoo For Scalp Build-up
I used the OGX Green Tea fitness shampoo for several weeks and noticed that while it removes sweat and grease from hair, it doesn’t clarify product build-up.
And I didn’t want to use the Charcoal shampoo too regularly so I tried the OGX Detoxifying + Pomegranate & Ginger shampoo.
I found it clarifying enough to use on my oily hair and it even helped control my (mild) dandruff.
This shampoo is enriched with pomegranate and ginger extracts that help remove even the most stubborn residue from hair. And the scent of the shampoo is really pleasant and fruity too.
I think I liked it better than the Green Tea Fitness shampoo!
While it’s sulfate-free, the formula is very strong and I don’t recommend using it on dry scalps as it can exacerbate the problem.
Pros:
- Adds volume to hair by removing excess oiliness
- Ginger extracts detoxify scalp and remove build-up
- Lovely fruity scent that isn’t too overwhelming
Cons:
- Very clarifying so it can strip moisture and leave scalp dry
My Ratings:
- Gentleness of Formula – 3.5/5
- Suitability for Hair Type – 4.5/5
- Effectivness – 4.5/5
Who It’s For – Mild dandruff, scalp build-up
OGX Thick & Full + Biotin & Collagen Shampoo
Best Ogx Shampoo For Thin Hair
I got this OGX Thick & Full + Biotin & Collagen shampoo as it promised to make hair thicker and fuller. And boy did it deliver!
I was mostly impressed with the ingredient list that included biotin, hydrolyzed wheat protein, collagen, and vitamin B7.
If I’m being honest I didn’t notice any changes on the first wash, but after 3-4 weeks of use, I could definitely see my hair looking fuller.
The shampoo also claims to repair any damage to your hair. And it did reduce split ends to some extent, it’s not a damage-repair product.
You’ll have to use the Bonding Plex Shampoo for that!
I also loved that the sulfate-free formula let me use the shampoo regularly. So if you’re looking for a daily use product this is it!
If your hair’s too fine, you can use this product before styling with texturizing sprays or mousses. That’s what I do!
Pros:
- Helps thicken hair thanks to the biotin formula
- Protein-rich formula smoothens frizzy hair
- Helps repair damage caused by excessive hairstyling
- Adds texture and plumpness to fine hair
Cons:
- None I could notice
My Ratings:
- Gentleness of Formula – 4.5/5
- Suitability for Hair Type – 4.5/5
- Effectivness – 4/5
Who It’s For – Thinning hair
OGX Tea Tree Mint Shampoo
Best Ogx Shampoo For Dandruff
Sensitive scalp gang, assemble! This product is just the thing for you if your main hair concerns are dandruff, itchiness, redness, or a mild form of eczema or psoriasis, then the OGX Extra Strength Refreshing Scalp + Tea Tree Mint is your savior.
What I liked most about this shampoo is that it contains ingredients like peppermint oil and tea tree oil, which are known for their anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and antibacterial properties.
It’s also enriched with witch hazel, a natural astringent. So if an oily scalp bothers you, this shampoo takes care of that too.
I love how the peppermint formulation also leaves behind a cooling feeling and a pleasant fragrance.
The down side? Well, it isn’t really a great pick for dry scalps. If you have very dry scalp then I suggest getting another OGX shampoo like the Argan Oil or Coconut Milk one.
Pros:
- Helps control excess oil production as it contains witch hazel
- Leaves behind a cool, fresh feeling thanks to the peppermint oil
- Tea tree oil helps soothe inflammation and helps scalps afflicted by eczema
Cons:
- Not for dry scalps as it can be too cleansing
- Perfume can irritate scalp
- Witch hazel can be too drying
My Ratings:
- Gentleness of Formula – 3.5/5
- Suitability for Hair Type – 4.5/5
- Effectivness – 5/5
Who It’s For – Oily, dandruff-prone hair
OGX Renewing + Argan Oil Of Morocco Shampoo
Best Ogx Shampoo For Dry Hair
I had noticed that due to frequent styling, bleaching, sun exposure, lead to very dry and lifeless hair.
And this exactly where the OGX Renewing + Argan Oil Of Morocco shampoo scores. Its hero ingredient is argan oil, a substance packed with nourishing antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.
I noted that shampoo improves hair elasticity, repairs damage, strengthens the shaft, and reduces dryness and all this with just a few weeks of me using this shampoo.
It contains silk extracts that lock moisture in. But wait there’s more. The shampoo is perfectly safe to use on color-treated hair.
Also, it protects your hair from further damage due to UV rays and heat.
Pros:
- Deeply moisturizes dry hair and smoothens frizzy hair as it contains Moroccan organ oil
- Improves hair integrity as it contains silk protein
- Good for color-treated hair as it’s free of sulfates
Cons:
- Can weigh down fine hair as the ingredients are too heavy

When we say there is an OGX shampoo for everything, we mean everything.
If you’ve decided to go with a fun blonde hair color, the OGX Hydrate & Color Reviving + Sunflower Shimmering shampoo helps bring out the golden tones on your hair.
The shampoo contains sunflower extracts and honey that nourish hair, protect the vibrancy of hair color, and protect it from fading due to UV ray exposure.
Its natural formula is free of any peroxide or hair dye.
All it does is infuse moisture into hair strands and forms a shield over them, so the sunny tones in your blonde hair look brilliant and shiny.
Pros:
- Brings out gold hues in blonde hair
- Prevents hair color from fading
- Improves hair shine
- Good for color-treated hair
