If you want to know What GHD Products Are Discontinued In 2023, check out my article below to find the list and also learn where to find the discontinued products and if there are any alternatives available.
In order to keep up the hair game, brands often introduce new products, with better product formulations and discontinue some of their older products over time.
Yes, this can be quite disappointing to their customers, especially if someone’s got a product they have got used to after using it for years. Well, I’m sure that’s happened to some of you, right?
GHD is a very popular hair product brand that is well-known for delivering some of the best high-quality products in the world. Just like many other brands, GHD has also discontinued some of their products over the years.
Let’s discuss about what products of GHD are currently discontinued.
What GHD Products Are Discontinued
Nevertheless, these changes and discontinuation of products is essential for not just the growth of the company, for the sake of innovation, better formulations, changing customer preferences and of course, also to enhance the hair of the product users.
About GHD Products
GHD (also known as ‘Good Hair Day’) is a world-renowned brand that is well-known for its hair care and hair styling products.
It was established in 2001 in Yorkshire in The United Kingdom and no sooner did they gain popularity in the world of hair care. From hair straighteners, to hair dryers, hair curlers and hair styling products, the brand GHD creates their products so that their users get salon-quality results at home.
The GHD brand is known for their innovative and cutting-edge technology and its long-lasting commitment to creating products that are gentle for the hair.
GHD is also committed to environmental sustainability where they work to reduce their impact on the environment. They are also a member of the Ethical Trading Initiative and make sure that they only use recycled materials in their product packaging.
1. GHD Rescue Drops Weekly Leave-in Treatment
The GHD Rescue Drops Weekly Leave-in Treatment was a leave-in treatment to provide intense moisturization and strength to weak, damaged hair and to help repair split ends and breakage.
This treatment was designed to be used just once a week to help improve the condition of the hair and reduce hair static, prevent further hair damage and improve hair sheen.
This treatment consisted of 7 bottles of 4.5 ml each, to be used once a week for 7 weeks. I used this treatment (all 7 bottles) just one time and I must say that the effects were amazing!
My hair used to be very damaged, dry and brittle and this treatment really renewed my hair and its quality.
Alternative product: GHD Rehab Split End Therapy
2. GHD Replenish Shampoo
The GHD Replenish Shampoo was specifically designed for dry and coarse hair. So I had used it a lot in the past and it was one of my go-to shampoos as my hair was very prone to dryness.
It was formulated with a blend of different nourishing natural oils and nutrients and thus helped hydrate the hair and kept it well-nourished.
It really made my hair feel very soft and shiny over the months of continuous usage. It was also a sulfate and paraben free shampoo. I would use this shampoo along with the GHD Replenish Conditioner and the results were really good.
Unfortunately, I didn’t find any alternative product of GHD and now use a shampoo from another brand.
3. GHD Thermal Protector
As someone who uses hair straighteners, curlers, blowdryers and all the possible heat styling tools, a thermal protectant spray is a must-have in my vanity kit!
So for many years I used the GHD Thermal Protector and it really kept my hair well protected from heat damage.
This product was designed to prevent the cuticles on the hair shaft from lifting due to the heat and also prevented hair damage and split end formation.
I also noticed that my frizziness, which I had earlier, had considerably reduced after I started using this thermal spray before heat styling my hair. The good part is that this spray was suitable for all hair types.
Alternative product: GHD Bodyguard Heat Thermal Spray
4. GHD Sculpting Wax Matte Finish
I used to simply love this product, the GHD Sculpting Wax Matte Finish and was truly disappointed when it got discontinued.
It was a hair wax used to give the hair texture and a matte-finish hair look, instead of a glossy finish, which was lovely!
It worked well on all hair types, mine being dry and frizzy and I was able to create a variety of styles with this product. It also helped make my hair look more voluminous as well.
It was also a safe product to use on colored hair without a worry.
I have not found a suitable GHD alternative product for this discontinued one and so I now use a product from another brand.
5. GHD Miracle Mist Daily Conditioning Spray
This leave-in conditioner was a lightweight conditioning spray and contained a blend of wheat protein and other conditioning agents to help detangle the hair, make the hair more manageable and also increase hair shine.
It really helped my hair and made my hair detangling process so much easier. What I also liked is that this spray contained a UV protection formula and it kept my hair away from sun damage as well. This product helped keep my hair well-hydrated for long hours.
Also, since it was a lightweight product, it didn’t weigh down my locs and that was something I really liked.
I now use the GHD Heat Protect Spray, but unfortunately it doesn’t have UV protection.
Alternative product: GHD Heat Protect Spray
6. GHD Purifying Shampoo
The GHD Purifying Shampoo is a clarifying shampoo and it is one that was specifically designed to remove hair and scalp buildup. It contained a blend of charcoal powder and salicylic acid and this helped remove dirt, excess oil and product residue easily from the hair and scalp.
I used to use this product once every month, because I have a lot of product buildup in my hair and scalp as I love trying out new products. So, after using this product on my hair, my scalp and hair would be clean and would feel refreshed.
After its discontinuation, I now use a clarifying shampoo of another brand as GHD doesn’t have any other alternative clarifying shampoo product.
7. GHD Uplift Spray for Root Volume
I started using this product just a few months before it got discontinued, in fact, so I never got to my second bottle.
But nevertheless, this spray was a lightweight product and helped volumize my hair roots and made my hair look fluffier. It helped give my hair roots an instant lift and added body to my locs.
The good part about this product was that it could be used on both wet hair and dry hair as well. It also contained polymers that created a good hold on the hair roots to give it that lift, without weighing down the hair, nor making it sticky or stiff.
Alternative product: GHD Pick Me Up Root Lift Spray
8. GHD Guardian Shampoo for Color Treated Hair
GHD Guardian Shampoo for Color Treated Hair was one that I used for quite a few years once I started coloring my hair and it worked really well to help maintain my hair color and prevent it from fading.
It had a gentle blend of cleansers, which didn’t strip the hair off its color and also contained nourishing natural ingredients to keep the hair nourished.
Unfortunately, I do not find a GHD shampoo as an alternative to the GHD Guardian Shampoo for Color Treated Hair.

Yes, you can definitely buy the products of GHD even if they have been discontinued, but are still available on e-commerce websites and local stores.

The Final Takeaway
While it can be really disappointing for a long-time user of a GHD product to find that their favorite product has been discontinued, they do need to realize that their trusted brand will come out with a newer and better formulated product which they can replace the discontinued product with.
